Nitrous happily announces that Steve Marino is the company’s Executive Creative Director, a newly formed position at Nitrous.

Marino has an eclectic background, having worked all over the world in Live Action, Design, Visual Effects, and all types of Animation.  He was a fixture at R/Greenberg Associates for five years, and then made the jump to Click 3X, in 1993, where he Designed, Supervised and Directed the FLAME, and CG artists for several years.  In 1998 he started his own design company at 89 Greene Editorial (a subsidiary of Crossroads Film).  He later opened Voodoo Design & Visual FX, where he Directed Award Winning National Advertising Campaigns and Music Videos; working with The Beastie Boys, Michael Jackson, The Bouncing Souls, and more.  Taking the company to the next level he opened Saucer Attack! Design & Visual FX and Vignette Editorial.  Most recently, Marino has been working internationally in Dubai.

He says: “I like to think in terms of production on an international level. The relationships I have established with artists and crews in South Africa, Dubai, India, Spain, Toronto and the USA enables the creation of projects with the same production value as a job that is entirely executed out of one, large house, for far less cost. Working in conjunction with core teams of small shops, here and abroad, allows us to compete with the larger venues by going after projects with budgetary or time constraints. I hope to bring my expertise and philosophy of creating ‘the highest caliber work using the most varied of resources’ to Nitrous as we collectively expand the company’s outreach.”

Nitrous and Marino have joined forces to build a strong design, animation, live action, and visual effects contingency as a dedicated resource to the company.
