By Design: The Joe Caroff Story is now streaming on HBO Max. Directed by Mark Cerulli and edited by Nitrous’ Paul C. Rosen, By Design is an original documentary on the incredible 60-year career of graphic artist Joe Caroff, who created some of the most memorable and iconic movie logos of the 20th Century – West Side Story, 007, Manhattan, Rollerball and Caberet to name a few.

Along with extensive interviews with designer Joe Caroff and his wife Phyllis, our film also features interviews with legendary film executive Mike Medavoy (who greenlit movies like Rocky and Caddyshack) and leading movie poster artist Dan Chapman.

It’s been a long, sometimes hard road to get to this point, says Rosen, and we thank the hard work of Nitrous team members past and present, as well as Charles Tabesh, Scott McGee and their team at TCM for getting us to the finish line.
